15.12.202507:20:36UTC+00Norway Trade Surplus Narrows in November

In November 2025, Norway's trade surplus contracted to NOK 41.3 billion, a reduction from NOK 68.8 billion in the same month the previous year, primarily due to a decline in exports. Exports saw a 14.8% year-on-year drop to NOK 139.8 billion, largely attributed to decreased sales of mineral fuels, lubricants, and related materials, which fell by 22%. Other significant declines were observed in the exports of food and live animals, which decreased by 4.9%, and in manufactured goods classified chiefly by material, which declined by 15.5%. Meanwhile, imports experienced a 3.3% increase, reaching NOK 98.5 billion. This rise was mainly driven by higher purchases in categories such as machinery and transport equipment, which rose by 3.6%; manufactured goods classified chiefly by material, up by 3.3%; and chemicals and related products not elsewhere specified, which increased by 5.9%. From January to November, the cumulative trade surplus for Norway was NOK 619.9 billion, reflecting a 3.4% decline from the same period the previous year. During this timeframe, exports slightly decreased by 0.2%, while imports rose by 1.8%.
